Uber Messed Up

Uber clearly does not regularly remove dormant accounts.   When I tried to register with them,  they said I had to proof this is my number,  when I have it for over 2 years.   What a hassle.  Dinner plan ruined.

Too Good To Go

Too Good To Go has been around for a few years.  It was mentioned again on the radio as one of the many tools to combat the rise of living cost.

Stale sandwiches from coffee chain is their standard offerings,  but they also have supermarkets,  which explains why the supermarket yellow labels are increasingly disappointing.

Folded Eyelids

I few years ago,  I rubbed my eyes so much,  my right eye has folded eye lid.    This year,  I rubbed my left eye so much,  now I may have both eyelids fold.   That saves a few quid from having to go to Korea.

Plant Food

I was taught plant makes their own food,  but apparently they still need feeding!  I am not going to my normal house plants,.not like they are yielding any fruit,  literally.

Shear Stress

Glue and most chemical adhesion are best in tension and compression,  less so with shear stress.   If you rub them hard,  they will debond,  so please dab clean.

C’est Chocolat

To cheer me up, Sarah bought us some chocolate from a small , C’est Chocolat.  She got us a 85% bar, which is nice.  It would be nicer if they use a thinner mould.

Inner City Crime

The local criminals has attempted for my bike again.  I am angry!

Steve just put it down to inner city crime, but I don't fancy suburban or rural crimes either.

Grocery Price Rise

We all have short memories, we don't really notice the price hike.  But when you check an old online order, and it tells you how the price has literally changed week on week, this can feel scary.

Cat Scarer

I have seen so many people having high frequency car scarer in their lawn, and I can still hear it!  I wonder if that actually works...

Honest Feedback

When people ask for feedback, I tend to give an honest feedback.  I am not sure everyone likes honest feedback.  In that case, they shouldn't be asking for it.

Camping Gaz

I got this cartridge of Campingaz from freecycle a few years ago and it has been sitting in the garage for another few years.  The cartridge has a price sticker stating 28p!

We finally get a chance to use it, and it worked, except the seals on the burner isn't very good, and the gas escaped overnight night.  We really should have brought some grease to improve the gas tightness of the seal.  Let see if the newer burner is any better next camping trip.

Kiplin Hall

I never heard of Kiplin Hall until I research about this trip.  It is a nicely old house, nice grounds.  We are very happy having visited.

Swale Trails - Cycle the Dales

Trying out an electric mountain bike on a trail sound like a good idea. So we picked up some bikes from the Dales Bike Centre, and went onto Swale Trail.

It was surprisingly peaceful.

In hindsight, if we both have electric bikes, we would have gone further, all the way to Keld!  After some cakes in Gunnerside, we went onto Ivelet and turned back.
Shore Gill Falls.

The Bosch kit is actually very good, the batteries also lasted a long time, we only used one square!

Harmby Falls

On our way to the Dales, we stopped by Harmby to visit Harmby Falls.

Whilst tidying my loft, I sorted out the aerial cabling, and now we have terrestrial tv!

Kitchen Respray

I wonder what you could do with peeling veneer, then I found my answer, repaint it, or respray it.  Let see how much it comes to jazz it up.

Old Maps Online

Whilst researching for the prospective new house, I came across Old Maps Online.  The collection is far from completed, but it does give a good starting point.

Burghley House

After 15 years, I finally managed to visit Burghley House.

Mavis and I first went the here in 2007 and saw some dears. But to time constrain, we didn't get to visit the house. Then again in 2015, I took Carol and Steph there, but they were happy to wander around the vintage cars and the food fair, not bother about the history. We have planned this trip for a few months, arriving here on Friday only to find Burghley House does not open on Friday!

After moving the plan around, we went back on Saturday, finally! We need to plan the next visit whilst the annual ticket is still valid. Do the videos are basically every generations complain about the house being leaky and the decor being out of date, sound familiar?!

Hamster Ball on Water

Zorbing has since evolved many times since its invention.   From throwing yourself down a hill to zorb football,  all resulting in whiplash.

I have seen the different iteration of hamster ball on water, which they also use the word zorb.

Tallington Lakes uses the double skin,  real zorb balls for this activity.   This is good,  that you wouldn't hurt yourself falling against the water,  but it is harder to stand on!

Spiced Beef Rib

After the last disappointed attempt on beef rib,  we came across another beef rib,  and I had another go.

This time I slow cooked as long as possible in a spiced stock and finished with honey.   Excellent!

Always Use Protection

I was going to rig up a plastic tent for the dust-generating DIY, but it was too much hassle, so I abandoned it, so I ended up covering everything in dust.  I must remember to always use protection!

Useless Wood Filler

I have come to realization that wood filler is not made to absorb vibration.  Flexible sealant would probably be the solution, again.

Aging Control Electronic

The boiler can be mechanically sound,  but they are still controlled by electronics of the same age, which ages less well.   I was surprised they still make my boiler's control card!

One of my wheel's balancing weight fell off!  Have I cleaned her too much?

South Facing Issues

Apart from the normal earth movements,  south facing wall and materials are subjected to extra UV and heat stress.

Ancient Brompton

On closer inspection, the chainring is also worn. I thought changing the Brompton spider chainring would be easy.

On the final inspection before ordering the parts,  only to fine this Brompton has an old chainring.  So lets not bother until then the bottom bracket goes.
