Merlin Adventure - Cadbury World

I have not been to Cadbury World for over 20 years.  It has changed a lot! The only thing they maintain is the free chocolate element, we got a couple bars of chocolates as part of the tour. We went on a Monday, and there were still a lot of queuing!  I did learn about the Cadbury, I did not know Mini Eggs came from Mr Cadbury's Parrot, and other weird bits.  At time, I find some of their exhibit really funny, which was a good laugh.

I wouldn't mind stopping by if I am in the area again.

Nutty Praline

I am digging into some of these Praline chocolates, they are very nutty, barely chocolate.  Something to keep in mind.

GLME Soesterberg 2025 - Day 2

Breakfast was very nice.  They had a few hot things for the British, then the typical German, French and of course Dutch selection.  

My gear were still wet from yesterday, but since the forecast was good, I was sure it would dry up shortly.

I went onto the scenic ride to Amsterdam for the boat trip.  The scenic ride involved riding on a lot of dikes.  Only now I know the dikes mean the bank, not the ditch!

It was good to see Amsterdam from the boat.  I did do a lot of walking around the canals when I was there, but it was a different prospective.

Before dinner, I was chasing down the ride leader for tomorrow, to ask if we can buy flour.  The Dutch think I was crazy...

Dinner was equally nice and equally messed with.  I checked with Sarah, she also had the misunderstanding of the word dike.

Post Easter Shopping II

We went to another Sainsbury, this time, we did get a couple eggs at a decent price.  James was sharing his M&M Bunnies with me that he had got them for pennies!

I will keep looking.

Birthday Chocolate: Venchi Dark Gianduia Hazelnut bar

Another one of the chocolate bar we got from Paris.  Venchi is actually Italian.  This is like a flatten Ferrero Rocher, except, better.

Birthday Chocolate: Cluizel Caramelize hazelnuts bar

One of the many bars of Cluizel we brought back from Paris.  This hazelnut bar is similar to the Lindt equivalent and cost twice as much.  

Nice, but I could just get the Lindt one next time.

Cadbury Secret Santa Chocolate

Secret Santa Chocolate has arrived.  It also comes with packaging jiffy bag, excellent item to be reuse and regift!

Free Chocolate

Cadbury Secret Santa is on again.  These days, the posters aren't really poster, they are rolling on the reel on the screens, we just missed it, so we stood and waited!!

Let see if the chocolates turn up!

Inflation!

I was tasked to look for a chocolate orange.  How Much?!

C’est Chocolat

To cheer me up, Sarah bought us some chocolate from a small , C’est Chocolat.  She got us a 85% bar, which is nice.  It would be nicer if they use a thinner mould.

Talbot Yard Malton

We finally paid a visit to Talbot Yard.

Bluebird is like the other like Bluebird.

Florian macaroon was as good as promised.   Hot chocolate was made to order. 

Undressed Babka

We finally got a Street Lane Bakery babka.  She said it was fresh out the oven, that may explain why it was not (yet) coated in syrup, which is fine, I don't really like it oversweetened.

 

Toblerone

I got a black Toblerone for nostalgia, then I am reminded why I don't have them more often, not really worth the calories.

Chocolate Milkshake

We had another milkshake.  Way too sweet!  Maybe I should not bother. 

Fix it with a Hammer

My shackle lock was playing up.   After consulting with the lock picking lawyer,  I concluded the bolt was snagging on the retainer,  and I have tried various paper and plastic slider method to move the bolt past the retainer to no avail.   So concluding there is no lock mechanism on that side of the lock and I have nothing to lose,  I bashed the bolt with a hammer,  the retainer fell out,  bolt slides,  sorted!   

We sometimes forget the 3rd engineers' best friend after adhesive and lubricant,  persuader!

Frey Supreme Dark Chocolate Crunchy Nut

I liked the Frey Supreme Milk Crunchy Nut so I went to get the dark one.

I am a bit disappointed.

Frey Supreme Milk Chocolate Crunchy Nut exceeds my expectation, it is nearly as good as the Lindt stuff.

Easter Egg (Bargain) Hunt

I was reliably informed there were some supermarkets sold out Easter eggs,  and my annual Easter egg hunt maybe scuppered.

Undeterred,  I set out for my hunt.   There wasn't a big pallet of discounted eggs by the door, so I proceeded to the next check points.   The first check point had a few Easter bits,  but nothing I wanted. 

Finally at the last check point,  I found one and only!  Success! 

Mini Malteaster Bunny

We got a small Easter egg, and this one came with a mini bunny.  I had a Malteaster bunny before, so I didn't pay too much attention on the "mini" bunny.  So when we came to eat the mini bunny, it is microscopic!
